Preparing Emerging CPAs: Galíndez LLC Shares Key Insights

Galíndez LLC recently partnered with the Comité de Jóvenes CPA  (Young CPA Committee) of the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants to offer a virtual learning session focused on emerging practice areas in the profession. More than 35 young CPAs joined the conversation led by Kenneth Rivera, CPA, Esq., Tax Partner, and Jazmarie Rivera, CPA, who shared practical insights and real-world perspectives on topics increasingly shaping the accounting landscape.

The Comité de Jóvenes CPA represents members up to 35 years of age and plays an important role in supporting early-career professionals as they integrate into the profession and participate actively within the Colegio. Its mission includes encouraging student interest in the CPA designation, advising the Colegio on the needs of young CPAs, developing programs that foster participation, evaluating the effectiveness of Colegio activities, supporting continuing education, and promoting professional and social engagement among newer members of the field.

In alignment with that mission, the seminar offered participants a closer look at several key areas:

  • Client Advisory Services (CAS): Understanding how advisory services continue to expand and how young CPAs can build the skills needed to support strategic client decision-making.

  • Private Equity: An overview of the accountant’s role in investment structures, financial reporting, and due diligence.

  • Tax Exemption Decrees: Practical guidance on Puerto Rico’s incentive programs and their relevance across industries.

  • AI-Driven Tools: A discussion on how emerging technologies are reshaping the profession and the considerations CPAs must keep in mind when adopting these tools.

This collaboration reflects Galíndez LLC’s ongoing commitment to supporting the development of future leaders in the accounting profession. By sharing knowledge and engaging directly with younger members of the community, our firm continues to contribute to a stronger, more informed generation of CPAs.

We thank the Committee for the opportunity and look forward to future initiatives that help advance the profession in Puerto Rico.
