Key Tax Developments for 2026: Corporations and Individuals

As the busy season gains momentum, Galíndez LLC continues to prioritize what matters most: keeping our professionals informed, compliant, and prepared to deliver work of the highest quality. Recently, our team participated in an in-person seminar focused on 2026 Tax Update: Corporations and Individuals, reinforcing our commitment to technical excellence even during the most demanding time of year.

The seminar was held at Caribbean University, Recinto de Bayamón, and provided a comprehensive review of the Puerto Rico tax landscape for the 2026 tax year. Structured in two parts, the session addressed both corporate and individual taxation, offering timely insights into recent legislative, administrative, and jurisprudential developments that directly impact compliance, planning, and risk management.

The morning session focused on corporate taxation in Puerto Rico, covering key updates affecting corporations, areas of heightened tax risk, frequent controversies with the Department of Treasury, and best practices in compliance, planning, and documentation. The afternoon session shifted to individual taxation, providing an in-depth and practical discussion of changes applicable to individuals, including emerging risk areas and common issues faced in current filings.

The seminar was led by members of the Galíndez Tax leadership team:

  • Kenneth Rivera Robles, CPA, Esq., CVA, CGMA, CM&AA, Tax Partner
  • Levi D. Villegas Fiol, CPA, CVA, Tax Partner
  • Jazmarie Rivera, CPA, Tax Senior Manager

They were also joined by Edgardo Rosa, CPA, Eric Gotay, and María González.

Their expertise and hands-on approach ensured that the content was not only technically sound but also directly applicable to the work our professionals perform daily across a wide range of clients and industries.
