28 Aug A Day of Giving: Galíndez Supports Students in Arecibo

Each year, Galíndez LLC partners with United Way of Puerto Rico through a variety of charitable events that connect us to the communities we serve. This year, our team proudly joined the “Regala un Día” (Give a Day) initiative, dedicating time and resources to support Hogar Colegio La Milagrosa in Arecibo.

Hogar Colegio La Milagrosa has been a part of the Arecibo community for 77 years, offering educational services from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Founded in 1926 by the Daughters of Charity (Hijas de la Caridad) as a home for orphaned girls, the institution later expanded to become both a home and a school. Today, it continues its mission exclusively as a colegio, ensuring that students receive a quality education while nurturing their individual strengths, passions, and ambitions. Teachers and staff work tirelessly to instill values that prepare students to succeed academically and become agents of positive change for Puerto Rico’s future.

As part of this year’s event, Galíndez provided a selection of essential items for the school infirmary (first aid room), helping to create a safe and well-equipped space where students can receive proper care. These included essentials such as sterile and non-sterile gauze, elastic and gauze bandages, disposable latex gloves, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, antibiotic ointments, and basic over-the-counter medications. These contributions will help ensure that students have access to the care and resources they need while at school. Representing Galíndez were Rafael Nieves, CPA, Managing Partner, and Sofía Rivera, joined by Wilfredo Nuñez of United Way of Puerto Rico. By leading these efforts personally, our Managing Partner set the standard for the entire firm, showing the importance of community involvement and the impact that professionals in financial advisory, tax, and audit services can make beyond the office.
