04 Sep Celebrating our Profession at the 2025 CCPAPR Convention
From August 28–31, the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants (CCPAPR) celebrated its 2025 Annual Convention at El Conquistador Resort. The four-day event brought together professionals from across the island for a combination of technical sessions, leadership updates, and networking activities designed to strengthen Puerto Rico’s accounting profession.
The program featured a wide range of educational seminars covering tax updates, nearshoring opportunities, employment law, and efficiency in firm management. Panels included discussions with government leaders and regulators on the future of Puerto Rico’s tax system, as well as perspectives on federal reforms and their impact on the island. Local and international leaders delivered keynote addresses, while evening activities—including cultural showcases, live music, and the Gala Night—brought members together in celebration of the profession.
Galíndez LLC was proud to sponsor and participate in several of the technical sessions, including the Tax Update: Local and Federal and the Forum: Department of Treasury Updates and Incentive Programs for Businesses in Puerto Rico. Partners Kenneth Rivera, CPA, and Iris Otero, CPA, Esq., were among the featured speakers, sharing their expertise with attendees on critical technical topics shaping the profession.
The firm’s presence at the convention was strong, with representation from Managing Partner Rafael Nieves, CPA; Partner Kenneth Rivera, CPA; Partner Levi Villegas, CPA; Partner Axel Ramírez, CPA; Yelitza Net, CPA; Valerie Beauchamp, CPA, Esq.; Glenda Benítez, Esq.; Edgardo Rosa, CPA; and Andrea Martínez, Esq.
The event also marked a leadership transition within the CCPAPR. CPA David A. Rodríguez Ortiz assumed the presidency for 2025–2026, and Galíndez is especially proud that Partner Kenneth Rivera, CPA, was confirmed as Puerto Rico’s Representative to the AICPA, strengthening the firm’s voice at the national level.
The convention also provided opportunities to connect with the next generation of professionals. During the 18th Student Leadership Conference, part of the Committee of University Chapters of the CCPAPR, Galíndez hosted a table to welcome accounting students. Jennifer Negrón and Sofía Rivera greeted participants, shared insights about starting a career at Galíndez, and handed out small mementos. Partners Rafael Nieves, Levi Villegas, and Kenneth Rivera also stopped by to meet with students and encourage their growth in the profession.
Year after year, the CCPAPR Annual Convention provides an important platform for professional development, collaboration, and connection. Galíndez LLC is proud to support this effort and to reaffirm our commitment to advancing the profession, strengthening leadership, and serving Puerto Rico’s business community with excellence.
