As the Winter Olympics were handing out their final medals, Galíndez was earning theirs at the 2026 Tax Bowl. With tax season in full swing, this fourth edition of the Tax Bowl provided an opportunity for firms across Puerto Rico to put their technical knowledge to the test in a competitive and engaging setting. Organized by the Colegio de CPA de Puerto Rico, this year’s event brought together eight teams representing leading accounting firms on the Island.

Participating firms included Alvarado Tax & Business Advisors, Deloitte, Driven, EY, Galíndez, LLC, Grant Thornton, KPMG, and RSM.

In a strong showing, Grant Thornton secured first place, Galíndez proudly earned second place, and Driven completed the podium in third. Achieving a top-three finish among eight respected firms is a meaningful accomplishment and reflects the strength of our tax team.

Galíndez was represented by Arixabel Matos, CPA; Dailyn Ortíz, MBA; Emmanuel Báez; Alanis Rodríguez; and Rafael Gutiérrez. Throughout the competition, they demonstrated technical depth, composure under pressure, and the ability to analyze complex contributory scenarios in real time. The team had a great time throughout the competition and was excited to celebrate their well-earned second-place finish.

The Tax Bowl challenges participants with advanced Puerto Rico tax questions that demand precision, speed, and applied expertise. It serves as both a friendly competition and a reminder that continuous study and professional development remain essential, especially during the busiest time of the year.

During the event, CPA David A. Rodríguez Ortiz, President of the Colegio de CPA de Puerto Rico, addressed participants and encouraged continued growth within the profession. We also extend our appreciation to the Comité de Asuntos Contributivos for organizing this fourth edition of the Tax Bowl and to Expert Tax PR for sponsoring the networking reception following the competition.
