Puerto Rico’s top financial professionals gathered to participate in the Colegio de Contadores Públicos y Autorizados de Puerto Rico (CCPA) 2024 annual convention, “Unifying Generations,” held at the El Conquistador Resort from August 29th to September 1st. Galíndez LLC’s team wasn’t the exception; they attended and presented at this year’s event.

The convention offered diverse educational sessions, networking opportunities, and inspiring keynote speakers. Our team had the chance to attend informative seminars that included tax updates, digital accounting innovations, Department of Treasury topics, and current trends in accounting and auditing.

In our initiative to support future CPAs, we enjoyed the 17th Leadership Conference, where university students were motivated by outgoing president CPA Edmy A. Rivera Colón to pursue their CPA careers.

A convention highlight is engaging with industry leaders, including hearing from CPA Carla McCall, president of the AICPA, and learning from the success stories of CPAs who excelled in their professions and personal lives. The convention included a “Meeting with the gubernatorial candidates” forum, where the CCPA presented recommendations for the candidates to consider in their government platforms.

Our team’s involvement included Partners Kenneth Rivera and Iris Otero, who participated in the opening forums, discussing “Tax Updates (local and federal): Individuals and Corporations.” Partners Leví Villegas and Áxel Ramírez were there to support their team members and friends.

It was great to support Future CPAs when two of our own, Sofía Rivera and Jennifer Negrón, were present at the accounting student leadership conference, where they mingled among the next generation of accountants, sharing insights and encouraging them to pursue their goals.

Galíndez LLC is committed to staying at the forefront of the accounting profession and contributing to the development of our community. We wish our best to the incoming new Board of Directors and are honored to be part of this year’s CCPA convention.
