29 Oct Galíndez Team Participates in Multi-Disciplinary Training
At Galíndez LLC, continued education is more than a compliance requirement—it’s part of our professional culture. Recently, team members from our Audit, Tax, and Consulting departments gathered at the Club Rotario de Río Piedras for a full-day learning session focused on evolving standards, technology, and regulatory updates.
The seminar featured internal experts Gloria Sorroche, CPA, Audit and Assurance Manager; Javier González, CPA, Semi-Senior Consultant; Andrea Martínez, Esq., Tax Supervising Senior; and Kenneth Rivera, CPA, Esq., Tax Partner, along with Miguel Cruz, CISA, Outsourced IT Specialist, who together led three in-depth sessions designed to enhance both technical knowledge and practical application across departments.
- Audit & Assurance Session – Focused on SOC 1 and SOC 2 reporting, this segment reinforced how service organization control evaluations protect client integrity and data security. The team also explored the growing role of cybersecurity audits, understanding how integrated risk management supports reliable assurance reporting.
- Consulting Session – The session introduced best practices for cybersecurity frameworks and the importance of effective IT control environments, both of which are critical for today’s advisory and outsourcing engagements. Attendees examined real-world case examples on assessing control design and implementation within client systems.
- Tax Session – Kenneth Rivera and Andrea Martínez presented the 2025 Federal Tax Update, explaining major changes introduced by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). The discussion covered key reforms affecting individuals, corporations, and exempt entities, as well as the implications for Puerto Rico taxpayers and businesses.
Beyond the technical depth, the session reinforced a core Galíndez value: the importance of cross-functional collaboration. By learning together, our departments strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver cohesive, forward-thinking solutions to every client challenge.
This seminar is part of our ongoing internal training initiative, which brings together subject-matter experts throughout the year to ensure our professionals remain at the forefront of audit, tax, consulting, and technology developments.
