On August 7, 2025, Galíndez LLC participated in the XXV Foro Industria de la Salud, hosted by the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants (CCPAPR) at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Isla Verde. This milestone edition gathered leaders from the public and private sectors to explore the transformation of Puerto Rico’s healthcare system and discuss strategies for building a stronger, more resilient industry.

The program began with an address from CPA Cynthia J. Rijo Sánchez, president of the CCPA, welcoming attendees and highlighting the forum’s role as a space for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Featured presentations included Hon. Víctor Ramos, Puerto Rico’s Secretary of Health, with an overview of public health’s evolution in light of federal reforms, and Lcdo. Carlos Santiago, Executive Director of ASES, provided an update on the agency’s ongoing initiatives. Morning sessions also brought perspectives from Washington and insights on the transition to the Medicaid DRG payment model.

Representing Galíndez, Partner Héctor Vázquez, CPA, CGMA, and Consulting Senior Manager Carmen A. Lliteras, CPA, CGMA, CHCRS, joined the program with their presentation on All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Group (APR DRG), contributing to the discussion on payment models and their operational and financial implications for healthcare providers.

In addition to Héctor and Carmen, Galíndez attendees included Managing Partner Rafael Nieves, CPA; Audit Partner Henry Flores, CPA; Audit Manager Taireli Hidalgo, CPA; Audit Senior Manager Janette Santos, CPA; and Audit Manager Tania Díaz, CPA. During the forum’s commemorative activities, Rafael Nieves, CPA, accepted a special recognition on behalf of Julio Galíndez as one of three CPAs who have contributed to organizing the Foro Industria de la Salud since its inception 25 years ago, underscoring Julio’s longstanding commitment to the CCPA and Puerto Rico’s healthcare sector.
