CPA Taireli Hidalgo Shares Insights at Puerto Rico Accounting Symposium

Galíndez LLC proudly recognizes CPA Taireli Hidalgo for her participation as a featured panelist at “Simposio: La Contabilidad en la Era de la IA,” held on October 17, 2026, at Universidad Ana G. Méndez in Gurabo, Puerto Rico.

Organized by the Comité de Capítulos Universitarios (CCU), the symposium brought together accounting professionals, industry representatives, and university students to explore how artificial intelligence is influencing the accounting profession and shaping the career opportunities available to future CPAs.

The event featured a full program of educational conferences led by experienced professionals and representatives from organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Becker Puerto Rico, and Expert Tax.

Among the featured presentations, CPA Joe Maslott discussed the AICPA’s Profession Ready Initiative, focusing on preparing future accountants for the demands of the profession. CPA Catalina Zorrilla presented “AI = Accounting: El contador que estás construyendo,” exploring the relationship between emerging technology and professional development.

Additional sessions addressed the role of artificial intelligence in CPA exam preparation, including Becker Puerto Rico’s presentation, “Newt: La IA como aliada en tu camino hacia la licencia de CPA.” Representatives from Expert Tax also discussed the application of AI in taxation during their presentation, “AI en los taxes: Una nueva era.”

Sharing Professional Perspectives: Tax vs. Audit

As part of the symposium’s afternoon program, CPA Taireli Hidalgo represented Galíndez LLC in the panel discussion “Tax vs. Audit,” alongside CPA Karelis Huertas.

The session offered attendees an opportunity to explore two fundamental areas of public accounting and gain a better understanding of the professional paths available within each discipline.

Through discussions like these, students can connect their academic preparation with practical perspectives from professionals working in the industry. The panel also complemented the symposium’s broader focus on preparing future accountants for a profession increasingly influenced by technological advancements.
