Galíndez Career Conversations with Puerto Rico’s Future CPAs

A career in accounting develops through education, professional exposure, and the connections students make along the way. Galíndez continues to support those connections by participating in university and professional events that bring students closer to the people and opportunities within the profession.

Two recent events gave our team the opportunity to spend time with students at different points in that journey: the 2026 Feria de Empleos e Internados at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and the 19th Accounting Students Leadership Conference, held during the 2026 Annual Convention of the Colegio de Contadores Públicos Autorizados de Puerto Rico.

Exploring Career Opportunities at UPR Río Piedras

On September 30, Galíndez participated in the Feria de Empleos e Internados FAE 2026, hosted by Programa ENLACE at the José M. Lázaro Library at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus.

The career fair allowed students to explore employment and internship opportunities and learn more about potential employers. Sofía Rivera and Jennifer Negrón welcomed students at the Galíndez table, joined throughout the event by other members of the Firm, including Partners.

The conversations gave students a chance to learn about Galíndez directly from the people who work here, ask about different areas of practice, and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available as they prepare to begin their careers.

Supporting Students as They Prepare for the Profession

Earlier in September, Galíndez also participated in the 19th Accounting Students Leadership Conference, an annual student program held as part of the CCPA Annual Convention.

The conference offered a broader introduction to the profession and its leadership. Students heard from Gerardo Torres, CPA, President of the CCPA for 2026-2027, and had the opportunity to interact with accounting leaders including William A. Emmer, CPA, COO of NASBA, and Mark Koziel, CPA, CEO of the AICPA. The program also included the swearing-in of the Board of Directors of the CCPA University Chapters Committee.

Sofía and Jennifer represented Galíndez during the student conference, with Firm Partners and other team members joining them during the day. Their presence gave students another point of contact with practicing professionals while experiencing a larger professional gathering and learning more about the organizations that will become part of their careers.

Continuing the Connection

For Galíndez, participating in these events goes beyond recruiting for a particular position. It allows students to become familiar with the Firm, meet professionals at different stages of their careers and begin conversations that may continue as they move closer to entering the workforce.

We appreciate the students who took the time to visit with our team at both events and the organizations that continue creating spaces for future accounting professionals to connect with the profession.
