Galíndez Recognizes HFMA Healthcare Initiative

Strong healthcare systems depend on more than facilities and funding. They also depend on attracting and retaining the professionals who provide care every day.

Galíndez recognizes a recent initiative led by the HFMA Puerto Rico Chapter focused on physician retention in Southern Puerto Rico through education and professional development. The organization announced HFMA-PR Academy 2026, a complimentary program created for medical residents and interns in collaboration with Ponce Health Sciences University and the Centros Médicos Académicos Regionales de Puerto Rico (CMARs). The event was designed to help participants better understand the healthcare system and encourage them to continue practicing in Puerto Rico.

Leading this effort is Taireli Hidalgo, CPA, President of the HFMA Puerto Rico Chapter and a valued member of the Galíndez team. Under her leadership, the Chapter continues to promote programs that connect financial management, education, and long-term sustainability within the healthcare industry.

According to published remarks, the initiative responds to the need to close the gap between clinical training and the operational realities physicians face when entering practice. The educational agenda includes topics such as Medicaid and Medicare Advantage administration, credentialing, provider contracting, legal risk management, risk-adjusted financial models, and medical practice administration.

For Galíndez, programs like this reflect the kind of collaboration that creates lasting value for Puerto Rico. Supporting healthcare professionals with practical knowledge and stronger career pathways can help communities maintain access to care while strengthening the broader healthcare system.

As a firm with longstanding ties to the healthcare sector, Galíndez values initiatives that invest in people, leadership, and the future of care across the Island.

We are proud to support Taireli Hidalgo and recognize the work of the HFMA Puerto Rico Chapter in advancing programs that make a meaningful impact for the local healthcare community.

The event will take place on May 2, 2026. To register, please use the link below.
